Charcoal and soft pastels were my first tools, but it was in high school that I truly began exploring color and detail. My art teacher encouraged my natural style, valuing creativity over strict realism. She praised my ability to make work look graphic while using color uniquely, gradually allowing me to create more vibrant pieces. Yet, working in charcoal taught me the importance of shadow, texture, and detail—lessons that color alone can sometimes obscure.
